Elena, I am so touched by this love between you and your wonderful partner and it fills me with hope that one day, too, I may find a love like this--divorcing so late in life, I don't know if that is in the cards for me but I am not done with love. Are we ever? To be human is to yearn for love, and often, romantic love. Your poem is gorgeous, as is all your poetry. I will gladly leave a review. And now that I see Barri below in the comments says Softening Time is the book she gives those in need of grief support, I see that I need to order a couple of copies right away.
YES YES YES to deep intimacy and to the mysteries we retrain by closing the bathroom door. My husband knows everything about me, including that I poop rose petals.
A singular moment in young love, me, lying on the couch, he, sitting on the floor with his back against it. Idly, I reach down and trace the lines of his face, so handsome. He is a joker, but this moment - something passes between us. He allows me to explore his face. We silently know we’re going deep.
"Tell me about moments shared; the ones that mean nothing yet everything." -- sometimes, it's as simple as when my partner and I are watching a show and in the middle of it, I find myself looking at him with a lot of awe with how much I love him, to be sitting beside him who chose to live life with me and I choose the same over and over everyday 🥰
I had no idea you two kept glancing at each other from the opposite side of the carousel for so long!
Even the colorful wooden horses must have been telling tales about your connection to each other.
It´s a risky business, getting up while the ride is still going, to stumble through the lights and motion, the bizarre music coming from God knows where. I´m glad you found each other!

I´ve been a long time follower of Elena, admiring her mindfully crafted works, but her poetry is a personal medicine that is meant to heal the reader (even if that was not her intent.)
For some magical reason, we all have the same ice-cream flavors handed to us in this life. A full tower, a bit lop-sided on the cone, handed to us, each at a different timing for us to savor and learn.
Each verse, each line, feels like a whispered revelation, gently guiding us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
Brower reminds us that we are all connected by the same thread of humanity. Her words offer solace and insight, regardless of where we are on our journey.
Reading "Softening Time" is not just an act of literary indulgence; it's a transformative experience. It's a reminder that amidst the chaos and uncertainty of life, there is beauty to be found, lessons to be learned, and healing to be embraced.
In essence, "Softening Time" is more than just a book of poetry; it's a beacon of hope, a catalyst for growth, and a testament to the power of the written word to touch hearts and change lives. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Finding mutually nourishing set up of a relationship. Going through it no matter how unconventional it maybe. Love the streets of NYC as canvas for love stories.

Dearest Elena, what a wonderful share, I feel so deeply happy for you all.
Two beautiful people ... my love to you both.
I can feel the magic when I’m in presence of you and Jimmy 💕

The simplicity and the miracle of love and of commitment.
Softening Time has been the book I bestow upon someone in need of grief support. I love these beautiful words today.
Softening….. what a beautiful action🙏🏼
The tiny chains on the sink. Perfection. I love you both so much. Him for taking care of one of my favorite humans.
I love the idea of “quotidian landmarks.” Beautiful poem and story~

Accepting myself gets easier through your eyes.
Such a nice sentiment thanks Elena 💜
